Pagode 5

This colorful put-together puzzle is a lot of fun and unlike most other DEFI Jeu puzzles, it’s not too difficult.

It’s made from brightly colored (dye not paint) hardwood balls 1.5" in diameter. Two balls joined by a dowel make one piece.

Remove all ten sets of multi-colored balls from the stand and mix them up. Now try to reassemble them so that there are no two colors the same on each horizontal level, and no two colors the same in each vertical column.

A more difficult version of this puzzle is Pagode 7.

Here’s the official instructions:

PAGODE 5 (THE PAGODA #5)
Pieces : ten dumb-bells, each one comprising two beads with different colors. They represent all possible combinations of two colors out of five.

Aim : stack up all ten dumb-bells so that all four beads on the same horizontal level, and all five beads on a single post, are different colors.
