The Right
and Left Box is the name of this Japanese Puzzle Box. It gets the name from its 5 moves
that first work on the right lid piece, and then the left one.
Natural
Japanese ho wood in Red and Yellow tones adorns the two lid pieces, making for a nice
contrast to the rest of the darker colored wooden exterior.
The interior of this box is quite
large and features a gold flecked bottom (see picture to right).
At over 7" long it's one of the largest JPBs Cleverwood carries.
The two sliding panels and two
sliding lid pieces that make up the puzzle mechanism work very smoothly. Both lid pieces
are completely removable. The finish is also very nice and light. It lets the quality of
the wood shine through.
A mechanical puzzle is a self-contained object, composed
of one or more parts, which involves a problem for one person to solve by manipulation
using logic, reasoning, insight, luck, and/or dexterity. - Jerry Slocum
