The Twisted Burr was one of Kagen
Schaefer’s
entries in the
2002 International Puzzle Party Contest. The other was his award winning Block Box.This puzzle is made of 6 pieces of
Maple hardwood. It’s sanded and oiled to a smooth feeling touch and is finished with mineral spirits mixed with wax.
Kagen’s puzzle is an excellent original design and is well made. Like all
burrs, it’s classified as an interlocking solid puzzle. Unlike most burrs, taking it
apart is more challenging than putting it back together.
The most exciting aspect of the Twisted Burr is that it has two
independent solutions. Once you have solved the puzzle there is the further challenge of
finding the other solution. This puzzle deceptively goes together two different ways.
Each puzzle bears Kagen’s signature brand mark. A limited edition of 45
puzzles is being sold now.

designed to work best at relative humidity of 50%. If the environment in which you plan to
keep this puzzle is significantly higher or lower than 50% relative humidity be aware that
this puzzle may become impossible to take apart, or may become very loose. We guarantee
that this puzzle works properly when we send it to you.

If your puzzle does "lock-up" restoring it to working condition is easy - just
wait till the humidity changes to 70% or lower and it will fix itself.
You can prevent this problem from occurring by storing the puzzle in the zip lock plastic
