The design on this box is known as Kusu. It
features all wood construction with three colorful wooden stripes along the top and bottom
of the box. These strips are composed of different natural Japanese hard woods: Rengus
(red), Urushi (yellow), and Walnut (brown). The strips are solid wood and are visible
inside the box as well as out (see picture below).
At 14 moves it is a rather tricky box, especially for those new to Himitsu-Bakos
- we have rated it as moderate. The puzzle mechanisms are smooth working and are of high
quality. A light finish lets the natural feel of the wood shine through. A large inside
compartment makes this box great for storage.
